Why duplicate companies occur

• New users create a new company instead of joining an existing one
• There are slight variations in a company's name (e.g., Inc. vs LLC)
• Invitations are sent to different email domains (e.g. @gmail.com vs. @yourcompany.com)
   

How to identify duplicate companies

• If you have BuildingConnected Pro, use the search bar in the top header. 
  1. Search for your company name.
  2. Check if multiple companies exist.
  3. Compare the company details, such as the address and employees. 
  4. Confirm that they match your company.
      
• If you and a coworker are having issues accessing the same invitations:
  • Ask your coworker to click on the building icon on the left menu in their account. 
    
    
     
  • Check if you are both seeing the same company name and list of offices. 
  • Open each office. 
  • Check whether your coworker appears in an office. 
    
    
     

What you can do to remove duplicates and merge accounts

Important: Merging or consolidating company profiles cannot be done directly by users.

If there are duplicates of your company, contact support with: 

• Screenshots or names of the duplicate companies
• Additional company details to help identify the duplicate profiles
• Which company profile should remain primary
