BuildingConnected’s Bid Leveling feature makes it easy to confirm that the subcontractors you’ve invited to a project are all pricing the same scopes or services. If your subscription to BC Pro includes Bid Leveling, continue reading to learn how to enable and disable plugs.
Use plugs to adjust for any line items that the subcontractor might have incorrectly accounted for. The ability to add plugs is enabled by default when you access the Bid Leveling tab. Additionally, plugs are not visible to the subcontractor; they're only visible to your team.
When plugs are enabled, you see a "Leveled Bid” and a “Base Bid” for each proposal. The Leveled Bid" takes into account any cost adjustments you've made with plugs for any line items you have or private line items you've added in “Other Costs.” Your “Base Bid” is the original amount that the bidder submitted in their proposal.
To disable plugs, look for the “Plugs off” button and click on it. To turn plugs back on, click on the button once more so that is says, “Plugs On.”
