As a general contractor with BC Pro, you have access to bid forms that can be customized to meet your project’s needs. Create these bid forms as templates so that they are saved to your account. The ability to create templates saves you time by allowing you to import these customized bid forms into future projects. This article goes over how to create project and scope-specific bid form templates.
To create a project bid form template
Start by going to the “Bid Form Templates” tab. Click on “+ New Bid Form Template.”
You’ll be able to enter a number, name and description for your bid form template. After adding these details, click on “Create Template.”
You will be directed to the “Project Forms” tab. Click on “Edit.”
Next, add the questions you wish to include in the project bid form. These are questions that all subcontractors who were invited to the project, no matter which bid package they were invited to, will see when they submit their bid. Click on “Save.”
You will immediately see the questions you added to the project bid form template. The changes made to project bid form templates are not automatically applied to any projects.
Bid Form templates have to be individually imported to a project in order for the form to be visible to subcontractors. For more information on how to import a template to a project please reference the article, How general contractors can import bid form templates (BC Pro).
If a custom project bid form is not used in a project, the subcontractor will only see the questions you include in your customized scope-specific bid form.
To create scope-specific bid form templates
Once you’ve set up the project bid form, you can then set up customized scope-specific bid form templates. These templates can be added to bid packages for future projects.
Start by clicking on the “Scope-Specific Bid Packages” tab.
Next, click on “+ New Bid Package.”
Fill out the requested information on the next page and click “Save.”
Next you will see the bid form for the scope-specific bid package that you just created. Click on “Edit.”
Add the questions you want to include in the scope-specific bid form and click “Save.”
For information on how to set up customized bid forms please reference the articles, How to customize your bid form for lump sum bids (BC Pro) and How to customize your bid form with detailed breakouts (BC Pro).
You will immediately see the questions added to the template. However, the changes made are not automatically applied to any projects or bid packages. Scope-specific bid form templates have to be individually imported into a bid package in order for the form to be visible to subcontractors.
