BuildingConnected’s Bid Leveling feature makes it easy to confirm that the subcontractors you’ve invited to a project are all pricing the same scopes or services. If a subcontractor excludes pricing, our Bid Leveling tool allows you to make cost adjustments called “Plugs” to their proposal.
Click here for a quick video tutorial of how to use our Bid Leveling tool.
In this article, you can learn how to:
To add plugs to a proposal in Bid Leveling
Start by navigating to the appropriate proposal within the Bid Leveling tab.
Click on the value you want to add a plug for and enter the adjusted cost.
You can also leave a note so that other members on your team know why the plug was added and also select a color from the bottom highlight the field. Click away from the field or press “Enter” on your keyboard to save the changes made.
Note: Subcontractors are not notified when a plug is added to their submitted proposal. Click here for more information on which actions taken in the Bid Leveling tab are visible to subcontractors.
The Leveled Bid value at the top of the proposal will increase or decrease accordingly to the changes you made. By default, plugs are highlighted in blue unless you selected a color when adding a plug as shown above.
To clear all plugs, colors, and notes on a proposal in Bid Leveling
You can delete all the plug values, colors, and notes your team has applied to a subcontractor's proposal at one time.
Click on the drop down menu next to the company’s name and click "Clear Plugs".
Click "Clear plugs".
