Main contractors use the BuildingConnected network to find subcontractors and invite them to tender on projects. One of the ways that main contractors can search for subcontractors is through a feature where they can search by location. Our "Service Area" tool is designed to help subcontractors control and indicate to main contractors where they work.
If you are receiving invites in locations where you do not perform work or if you would like to inform main contractors that you work in multiple locations, subcontractors can update this information within their profile.
If your office has never accepted an invitation to tender, this defaults to the territory your office is in and the surrounding territories. If your office has accepted tenders on BuildingConnected, your service area is based on the office’s tendering history. To learn how to update your service area, please reference this article: “How to update your service area”.
Selecting the locations that you are willing to work in is important. This helps us to ensure that your company appears when main contractors search for companies where you do work.
Please make sure that you only select territories or states that you would like to work in. If you select other areas, you may receive tender invites in locations where you do not perform work.
