The ability to soft award a tender through the Tender Comparison tab allows the estimator to communicate which subcontractor was selected to the chief estimator or to other members of their team. Using this feature is a great way to finalize which subcontractor was selected. It also adds the soft awarded tender to your "Proposal summary sheet" so that you can easily calculate the project total.
Start by locating the company you want to award. Click on the drop down menu next to the company’s name and select “Mark as awarded” from the list.
You will see a green “Soft Awarded” tag appear under the subcontractor’s name. Soft awarded tenders are docked to the left side so that this information is easily accessible.
Please note that subcontractors are not automatically notified when they are soft awarded a tender.
If you would like to indicate that a tender was not awarded, click on the drop down menu next to the name of the appropriate company. Select “Mark as not awarded” from the list.
You will see a red “Not Awarded” tag appear under the subcontractor’s name. Not awarded tenders are docked to the right allowing you to focus on the remaining tenders.
Please note that subcontractors are not automatically notified when they are not awarded a tender.
