BuildingConnected helps keep your project files organized by allowing you to upload them directly into a project. This makes it easy for subcontractors to see project details and access the necessary files to submit their bid in one centralized location.
This article shows you how to upload project files. Project files are accessible to all of your subcontractors so these should be any files that everyone should have in order to submit a tender. These are different than Tender Package Files that are specific to trades. That is the ideal location for reports that may only affect certain scopes of work. Learn how to upload bid package files here or see Project and Tender Package Files FAQs .
To upload project files
Navigate to the “Files” tab in your project and click "Upload files" or drag and drop files into the window.

Frequently Asked Questions
Files Access and Notifications
If you have not yet published your project and invited bidders, bidders will not be able to access the files until you do so. Once this occurs, when bidders access your invitation, then they can view or download the files you have uploaded into your project.
If your project is published and bidders are invited, they will immediately have access to new files when they access BuildingConnected. They will not receive an email notification. If you would like to notify your bidders, we suggest using the "Messages" tool to send an email to all or select bidders informing them of the new files uploaded to BuildingConnected.
What do project files look like for subcontractors?
When your bidder opens your project files in their Bid Board, they can view or download all the project files you uploaded on your end.
Note: The "New" notification allows your bidder to quickly see if any new files have been uploaded they have yet to see or download. The folder titled "Acoustical Ceilings" are files uploaded only for the bid package that this subcontractor was invited to. Learn more about bid package files here.
