With BC Pro, you have access to BuildingConnected’s Bid Leveling tool. Our Bid Leveling feature is a great way to ensure the subcontractors you’ve invited to a project are all pricing the same scopes or services. It enables you to compare bids apples to apples.
Below is a chart that lists the various actions that can be taken on the Bid Leveling tool. The second column displays if the subcontractor will see a change in their BuildingConnected account. The third column shows if an email notification is sent to the subcontractor when the action is taken:
| Action | Does the subcontractor see a change? | Is an email sent to the subcontractor? |
| Add a proposal on behalf of a subcontractor | Yes | No |
| Add an estimated cost for the bid package | No | No |
| Add a plug | No | No |
| Add a note to a plug | No | No |
| Submit a revision to the proposal on behalf of the subcontractor | Yes | No |
| Edit a section (adding to Line Items, Alternates, Inclusions) | Yes | No* |
| Edit the "Other Costs" section | No | No |
| Add plugs or notes to sections below "Inclusions" | No | No |
| Mark bidder as "Awarded" or "Not Awarded" | No | No |
*If you do edit a section, like adding a line item or an inclusion, we suggest messaging your bidders to inform them of the change as this allows them to submit their cost for the extra line item or respond to your inclusion accordingly on BuildingConnected.
As a reminder, BuildingConnected will never make a subcontractor’s bid public to any other subcontractor on the network.
