In Bid Leveling, you may see "Additional Items" appear on the proposals.
There are two ways that "Additional Items" appear.
- When a bidder submitted their proposal on BuildingConnected, they added an additional line item that was not originally on your bid form.
- This line item was once a part of your bid form and you have since deleted it. If any bidders submitted bids with that item you deleted, it becomes an "Additional Item". In this case, you can restore this line item by re-adding it word for word.
Note: You can't remove "Additional Items". They are maintained for history and for your tracking of any additional costs that the subcontractor has provided. However, we understand that when leveling bids, you may not want to include certain amounts added by bidders or include these historic costs in your final proposal. You can toggle them on and off accordingly.
To toggle on or off an "Additional Item"
Click on the toggle next to an Additional Item.
When you toggle Additional Items off, you will see that the line item gray out. The leveled bid value for this proposal will adjust accordingly to not include this item. You can click the same spot again to toggle it back as desired.
In our example here, the leveled bid value went down $13,400 since the Demolition - Courtyard line item was toggled off.
To restore a deleted "Additional Item"
If you deleted a line in the "Line Items", "Alternates", or "Inclusions" section in your bid form and there were already responses to bidders on that line, you can restore it so that it appears as a normal line in Bid Leveling.
For example, the item "Did you include protection?" was removed from Inclusions. Now it appears in "Additional Items" under Inclusions.
To restore this, click on the "Edit section" icon next to Inclusions.
Type in the previous item exactly as it was previously in the empty field and click "Save".
When successful, the Additional Line item section disappears and the line item is returned to the corresponding section.
