BuildingConnected’s Tenders section includes the ability to log tenders. Logging tenders is a great way to save details that you want to document for a job but not include in your submitted tender.
This article explains how to log tenders from within an opportunity group. For information on how to submit proposals to main contractors with opportunity groups please reference the article, How to submit proposals with opportunity groups.
To log a tender within an opportunity group
To start, find the opportunity group containing the project you wish to log a tender for. Click on it.
From the “Overview” tab, click on the “Tender Form” tab.
Use the “Previous” and “Next” options to scroll through the opportunities (i.e. tenders) in the group until you find the correct one.
Next, click on “Log your tender instead.”
You will have the opportunity to enter the details of your logged tender. Logged tenders are not received by or visible to the main contractor. If you decide to submit your tender to the main contractor, you can do so from this screen by clicking on “Send your tender instead.” Otherwise, proceed to enter the details of your logged tender.
Once you have entered the appropriate details, click on “Log Tender.”
On the next screen, click "Add tracking data" to enter internal notes for this tender. The notes entered on this screen are only visible to you and your coworkers. They are not visible to main contractors or clients and are intended for internal use only.
If you have no notes to add, click “Skip” to proceed. Otherwise, click "Save" once your notes are added.
You will see the details of your logged tender. Note that since a submission was not made, the status of this individual opportunity will not change to “Submitted.”
Additionally, you will see an alert reminding you that the tender was logged and not sent to the main contractor.
