Will I be notified if I receive an invitation to bid?
Yes. You should receive an email notification letting you know that you’ve been invited to bid. Below is an example of the notification that you will receive. The notification will include the name of the project, the name of the General Contractor and a link that directs you to the bid details in your Bid Board.
Note: When invites are sent for NDA protected projects, the project details will not be listed in the notification. However, project details are available once the NDA is signed.
I added a coworker as a follower on a bid. Will they receive a notification?
Yes. The coworker who was added as a follower will be notified. However, no notification is sent when you assign yourself as a follower.
I assigned a coworker to a bid. Will they receive a notification?
Yes. The coworker who was assigned to the bid will be notified. However, no notification is sent when you assign yourself to a bid.
Will I be notified of any messages regarding the project?
- If you are a follower or assigned to an opportunity, you will receive messages sent by the general contractor regarding the project.
2. If another follower (coworker) on the project sends a message to the general contractor, you will also receive a copy of that message.
Bid-Delivered Notification
When a proposal is submitted through BuildingConnected, an email is sent to the assignee and the person who submitted the bid confirming that your bid has been delivered.
Follow-up date reminders
When a follow-up reminder is set on an opportunity, an email is sent to the assignee and the person who submitted the bid on the day of the follow-up and also when it is 3 days past due.
I updated a bid to indicate that it was won. Was a notification sent out to the general contractor?
No. Notifications are not sent to general contractors when subcontractors update the status of a bid to reflect that it was won.
A general contractor is updating a bid on my behalf. Will I get notified of these changes?
No. Subcontractors do not receive email notifications when general contractors adjust a submitted bid by using plugs. Additionally, subcontractors do not receive a notification when a general contractor submits a bid on their behalf. However, the bid will appear in the subcontractor’s account.
If you have Bid Board Pro, these are additional notifications that you can receive:
I forwarded an invitation to bid from my inbox. Will I receive a notification?
Yes. We send out a confirmation letting you know that the invite was successfully added to your Bid Board.
I converted a message into an addendum on an existing bid. Will the followers of the bid receive a notification?
Yes. Followers of the bid that was converted into an addendum will receive a notification.
I forwarded an invite into BuildingConnected and need to make a copy. Will making a copy send a notification?
Yes. Anyone listed under “Followers” on the original bid will receive a notification letting them know that a duplicate bid was created. The same individuals will be added as followers on the duplicated bid, as stated in the notification.
Bid-viewed notification
When a general contractor views a proposal sent through BuildingConnected, an email is sent to the assignee and the person who submitted the bid confirming that your bid has been viewed. The email also includes the date and time the general contractor viewed your proposal. You can learn more about this feature here.
