If you are a subcontractor who has received an invitation to bid through BuildingConnected, this article guides you through the email you received and how to use it.
All BuildingConnected invitations to bid come from the email team@buildingconnected.com. The sender name will change depending on the contact and their company. Here are a couple examples of different sender names with the same email address:
- Sally Construction (HRL Construction) <team@buildingconnected.com>
- John Doe (Doe Contractors) <team@buildingconnected.com>
- View this RFP or View Bid Form
- Click on "View this RFP" or "View Bid Form" to open the project details in BuildingConnected.
- "View this RFP" will take you to the "Overview" tab of the project
- "View Bid Form" will take you to the "Bid Form" tab of the project, where you can go directly to complete your proposal
- Note: You need a BuildingConnected account to access project details. When prompted, login accordingly to access or create an account. You can find instructions on creating an account here.
- Click on "View this RFP" or "View Bid Form" to open the project details in BuildingConnected.
- Accept or decline a bid directly from the invitation
- To accept or decline, click on “Bidding” or "Not Bidding" respectively.
- Note:
- Accepting a bid does not send an email notification to the general contractor. The general contractor will see your updated status in the project on their end.
- In your account, the bid will move from the “Undecided” folder into “Accepted” (Bidding) or "Archived" (Declined) depending on your response.
- If no action is taken from within the invite or if “Not Sure” is selected, the bid will remain in the “Undecided” status.
- View all files and project details
- The invitation to bid email will also include snippets of important project details including location, bid due date, and description if available.
- Click "View all files and project details" to open the project details in BuildingConnected.
- Note: If the project requires an NDA to be signed electronically, project details may be hidden.

- Client Details
- At the bottom of the invitation, you will find the client's name, title, contact information, and company. This is the lead contact for this bid set by the client.
