As a head contractor with BC Pro, you have access to tender forms that can be customized to meet your project’s needs. Create these tender forms as templates so that they are saved to your account. The ability to create templates saves you time by allowing you to import these customized tender forms into future projects. This article goes over how to create project and scope-specific tender form templates.
To create a project tender form template
Start by going to the “Tender Form Templates” tab. Click on “+ New Tender Form Template.”
You’ll be able to enter a number, name and description for your tender form template. After adding these details, click on “Create Template.”
You will be directed to the “Project Forms” tab. Click on “Edit.”
Next, add the questions you wish to include in the project tender form. These are questions that all subcontractors who were invited to the project, no matter which tender package they were invited to, will see when they submit their tender. Click on “Save.”
You will immediately see the questions you added to the project tender form template. The changes made to project tender form templates are not automatically applied to any projects.
Tender Form templates have to be individually imported to a project in order for the form to be visible to subcontractors. For more information on how to import a template to a project please reference the article, How head contractors can import tender form templates (BC Pro). If a custom project tender form is not used in a project, the subcontractor will only see the questions you include in your customized scope-specific tender form.
To create scope-specific tender form templates
Once you’ve set up the project tender form, you can then set up customized scope-specific tender form templates. These templates can be added to tender packages for future projects.
Start by clicking on the “Scope-Specific Tender Packages” tab.
Next, click on “+ New Tender Package.”
Fill out the requested information on the next page and click “Save.”
Next you will see the tender form for the scope-specific tender package that you just created. Click on “Edit.”
Add the questions you want to include in the scope-specific tender form and click “Save.”
For information on how to set up customized tender forms please reference the articles, How to customize your tender form for lump sum tenders (BC Pro) and How to customize your tender form with detailed breakouts (BC Pro).
You will immediately see the questions added to the template. However, the changes made are not automatically applied to any projects or tender packages. Scope-specific tender form templates have to be individually imported into a tender package in order for the form to be visible to subcontractors.
