Often prequalifications request the same information about your company like what type of work you perform, your last 5 largest projects, EMR scores, and more. The auto-populating feature is intended to lighten your workload and limit the amount of manual entry you and your coworkers have to complete each time.
BuildingConnected will remember your most recent responses and will auto-populate those responses in common questions on all the qualifications in your account. For example, you upload your EMR scores for the last 5 years to one qualification. On your next qualification, your EMR scores and files are already uploaded.
Why are my responses updating on other qualifications in progress?
The auto-populate feature updates your response to common questions across all applications immediately. So, if you have qualifications in progress with Company A and Company B, if you upload your EMR scores to Company A's questionnaire, the same EMR scores will populate into Company B's questionnaire.
This may cause confusion if you are uploading or responding to questions that contain information or documents specific to that general contractor. Therefore, we suggest fully completing one general contractor's prequalification all at once, then moving on to the next. On the next general contractor's prequalification, if any populated information is outdated or does not apply, remove the incorrect content and enter in new information as needed. If there are any unique documents or information for that general contractor, this ensures that the specific general contractor is getting all the appropriate information you would like to submit.
Why are my submitted applications not showing what I originally submitted?
You may also notice your most recent responses to common questions populating in your "Submitted" questionnaires, however, these updates do not automatically get sent to general contractors. The general contractor received the existing responses at the time your team clicked "Submit" on that specific application, not what you currently may be seeing.
In order for the general contractor to see any updates, you must click "Submit" again on that particular application. Just like with a new application, this feature is intended to lighten the workload when it comes time to update your submitted prequalifications.
When it comes time, you can remove any pre-populated documents or information that does not pertain to this particular general contractor. Similar to new invitations, we suggest fully completing one general contractor's prequalification all at once, then moving on to the next. This ensures that the specific general contractor is getting all the appropriate information you would like to submit.
