Linking a BuildingConnected project to to an Autodesk Forma project connects workflows in BuildingConnected to Forma so that you can work efficiently on your project across a single platform. Learn more:
Note: Your BuildingConnected must be connected to your Autodesk ID to link a project to Autodesk Forma. Learn more
To link a project to Autodesk Forma
Open the project you want to link to Forma.
Click the arrow at the top right of the project.
Select "Link to Autodesk Docs".
In the pop-up window, click “Link to new Forma project or “Link to existing Forma project”.
In the pop-up window, click “Link to new Forma project or “Link to existing Forma project”.

Link to new Forma project: You must have permissions to create a project in the ACC account you select.
- If applicable, select the Autodesk Forma account your new project will go into.
- (Optional) Select a template to create the new project from. Existing project templates from your Forma hub appear here.
- Edit the project number, name, and type. Click “Show more” to find currency and other optional fields.

By default, “Add Files to Data Management” is selected. All your existing files in BuildingConnected will be moved to Autodesk Forma so that you can manage them there.
Note: If you deselect this, any files previously in BuildingConnected will no longer be available in BuildingConnected or Autodesk Forma. Only unlinking will return your files back to before you linked to Forma.

Click “Link project”.

Link to existing Forma project
- Click “Link to existing Forma project”.
- Click on an existing project from your Autodesk Forma hub.

By default, “Add Files to Data Management” is selected. All your existing files in BuildingConnected will be moved to Forma Data Management so that you can manage them there.
Note: If you deselect this, any files previously in BuildingConnected will no longer be available in BuildingConnected or Forma. Only unlinking will return your files back to before you linked to Forma.

Click "Link project" if you are not adding files to Data Management and your project will be linked or click “Next”.

Select a folder in the ACC project to sync and add your files from BuildingConnected to.
- Click "Add Files".
