As a subcontractor with Bid Board Pro, you have the ability to know when a general contractor views your submitted bid. This feature allows you to see if a general contractor has not yet viewed your bid so that you can follow up with them. The card shows if they have viewed your bid as well as the last date that they looked at it.
What actions trigger that my bid has been viewed?
A bid is considered viewed when the general contractor views your bid in BuildingConnected, prints your bid, or downloads an attachment.
For bids that originated outside of BuildingConnected (manually created opportunities or forwarded opportunities), the “Bid viewed” email notification will be triggered when the general contractor opens your email.
Please note that if a general contractor has email open tracking blocked, we will not capture when your bid invite was opened, and thus, you will not receive an email notification.
Bid activity
Within each submitted opportunity, in the "Overview" tab, you will find the "Bid activity" status.
What are the different "Bid activity" statuses?
When you first submit your bid:
When your bid has been viewed:
If you have logged your bid and therefore didn’t submit it to the general contractor through BuildingConnected, you will see a note alerting you that the bid viewed status is not available as we cannot track proposals that were not submitted through our platform:
“Bid viewed” email notification
The individual assigned to the opportunity and the individual who submitted the bid will receive an email notification when a general contractor views your bid for the first time. This will help you and your team schedule follow-up reminders to stay organized and keep track of responsibilities and deadlines.
The email notification, as shown below, will include the date and time the general contractor viewed your bid as well bid details, contact information, and quick links to your BuildingConnected account to send messages and set follow-up reminders.
