Will I need to have a BuildingConnected account to access my TradeTapp invites?
Yes. You will need to have an account with BuildingConnected to access TradeTapp invites moving forward.
I already have a BuildingConnected account. Can I use this account?
Yes. You should not create a new account - just use the one you already have! You’ll be able to manage bid and qualification invites from within a single account.
I don’t have a BuildingConnected account. What should I do?

Can we still access our TradeTapp invites in the TradeTapp app (app.tradetapp.com)?
No. You will no longer be able to access your TradeTapp account (app.tradetapp.com). If you navigate to app.tradetapp.com and log in, you’ll be redirected to an informational page to that helps you complete the account migration process. All future emails (invites to renew/qualify, reminders, request for corrections, etc.) will be directed to you in BuildingConnected.
What’s going to happen to my company’s applications in my TradeTapp account?
They’ll be moved to your BuildingConnected account! Don’t worry - your company won’t lose any of your TradeTapp data.
For the majority of companies, we’ll be able to seamlessly transfer your company’s TradeTapp invites to your company’s BuildingConnected account as part of the move into BuildingConnected.
To qualify for automated transfer, your company’s TradeTapp Primary Contact
If your company’s Primary Contact isn’t able to create a BuildingConnected account, don’t worry - someone else registered to your company’s TradeTapp account can migrate your invites in just a few steps. More info at the bottom of this article.
Where in BuildingConnected will we manage our TradeTapp applications?
There’s a new ‘TradeTapp Invites’ tab within the Qualifications section of the BC app. The TradeTapp invites dashboard will live within this tab.
There will be 2 subsections to the dashboard: ‘Awaiting Submission’ and ‘Submitted’. Applications that have been submitted to the General Contractor will live in the ‘Submitted’ section. Any applications that haven’t been submitted (or have a pending request for corrections) will appear in the ‘Awaiting Submission’ section.
My company already has a TradeTapp account. Will we lose access to our old TradeTapp invites?
No! All of your company’s invites will be moved to BuildingConnected, and the information you’ve previously saved will still be available.
No! You should use their existing TradeTapp account:) No need to make another one.
What about Qualification Manager invites?
Qualification Manager invites will now live in the ‘Other Invites’ tab. Nothing about this section is changing except for the name of the tab. This tab used to be called ‘Invitations form Clients’.
Is anything changing about the TradeTapp questionnaire?
No. The questionnaires will remain the same. GCs may slightly change up their questionnaires from time to time (for instance if a new custom question is added), but this isn’t due to the migration.
Who has permissions to access the TradeTapp qualification invites?
There are 2 permission levels for ‘TradeTapp Invites’:
- Anyone in the company can access (view, fill out, submit) invites
- Only designated people can access invites.
How can I change who can access TradeTapp qualification invites?
Any user with permissions can change the Primary Contact from within the ‘Permissions & Settings’ tab.
- If permissions are set to 'Anyone', then any user in the company can change the permissions to 'Only designated people'.
- If permissions are set to 'Only designated people', then only users on the access list can update permissions.
I created a BuildingConnected account, but I’m not able to access the ‘Qualifications’ section.
There are a couple of extra steps after you create your account.
- You’ll need to verify your email address. You’ll receive an email requesting you to verify your email address. Click the ‘Verify your email’ link in the email you receive to verify your email.
- If you’re joining a company in the BuildingConnected network, you’ll need to have your employment verified by an office lead. Your company’s BuildingConnected office lead will receive an email that you’ve requested to join their office. Once they verify your employment, you’ll be able to access the ‘Qualifications’ section.
What if I don't have permissions to access TradeTapp qualification invites?
If you don't have permissions to access the 'TradeTapp Invites' tab, you will see a permissions wall when clicking on the tab. Here, you will be instructed to reach out to one of these users.
You can change the Primary Contact from within the ‘Permissions & Settings’ tab.
The Primary Contact will receive all email notifications related to invites.
Our company is split into multiple BuildingConnected companies. Can our company’s TradeTapp invites be transferred to multiple companies?
No. A TradeTapp Vendor’s invites can only be transferred to a single BuildingConnected company.
Can the TradeTapp → BC migration be done on the office level?
No. TradeTapp → BC is on the company level.
Somehow our company ended up creating multiple TradeTapp vendor accounts. Can we transfer companies from each of these accounts to a single BuildingConnected company account?
Unfortunately not. You'll need to choose one of the accounts to migrate. The invites from the other account will be lost, and the GCs will need to re-invite you.
Do any other users belong to the TradeTapp account?
If yes - then one of these users can complete the transfer. This user should enter their TradeTapp credentials in the ‘Transfer Invites’ modal that can be found in the ‘TradeTapp Invites’ section.

What if my company’s TradeTapp invites haven’t been moved to my company’s BuildingConnected account yet?
No worries! We’ll be able to get your company’s invites moved over in a few quick steps.
Once you’re logged in to your BuildingConnected account, navigate to the Qualifications section of the app. This can be accessed from the left-side menu.
Confirm you have the tab selected.
Once you’re in the ‘TradeTapp Invites’ section, a modal should appear. After reading the information, click ‘Start Transfer’.
If the modal didn’t automatically appear, you can click the ‘Transfer Invites’ button to surface it. Please note you’ll need to have a TradeTapp login + password in order to complete the transfer process. If you don’t have one, please reach out to someone in your company’s TradeTapp account to complete the transfer process.
On the next screen, you’ll be asked to enter in the login credentials associated with your TradeTapp account. Enter the email and password you would use to log in to your TradeTapp account.
If can’t remember your login info, hit ‘Forgot Password’ to reset your TradeTapp password. Once you’ve reset it, return to the modal and re-enter your credentials.
After successfully entering your credentials, we’ll ask you to confirm the company name associated with the TradeTapp credentials you’ve entered.
After clicking Complete Transfer, your company’s TradeTapp invites will be moved to your BuildingConnected account.
Any invites you’ve previously submitted will be available in the ‘Submitted’ section, and any still awaiting submission will be in the ‘Awaiting Submission’ section.
