The Contacts in qualifications uses the BuildingConnected network to manage contacts. Using network contacts makes it easier for the companies you prequalify with to find the right people at your company and helps ensure that qualifications invitations and requests are sent to contacts who have access to respond.
How qualification contacts work
When selecting contacts for a subcontractor, you can choose from contacts associated with that company in the BuildingConnected network instead of manually entering their contact information.
This helps keep qualification contacts aligned with the subcontractor's current company membership and access.
Note: Subcontractors are responsible for ensuring the appropriate employees at their company have access to qualifications.
If an employee leaves the subcontractor's company and is removed from their BuildingConnected company, that contact is automatically removed from qualification permissions and will appear as no longer available to general contractors.
To add a qualification contact
- Navigate to the subcontractor company you want to qualify.
- Open the qualification or invitation workflow.
- Click to add or select a contact.
- Search for the contact you want to add. Contacts associated with the subcontractor's company in the BuildingConnected network will appear for selection.
- Select the appropriate contact.
- Continue with the qualification invitation.
This allows you to quickly select an existing network contact without manually entering their contact information.
If a qualification contact is no longer available
If a contact leaves their company and is removed from the subcontractor's BuildingConnected company, they will no longer be available as an active qualification contact.
The contact will be marked as no longer available so your team can identify that the qualification should be directed to another employee at the subcontractor's company.
Select another available contact from the company's network to continue the qualification process.
To resend an invitation to a contact in TradeTapp

- Navigate to the subcontractor in TradeTapp.
- Open their qualification invitation.
- Locate the contact you want to invite again.
- Click the option to resend the invitation.
The invitation will be sent again to the selected contact.
Note: Resending an invitation to a specific contact allows you to follow up with the appropriate person without sending another invitation to every contact associated with the qualification.
